Additional Information
Unlike the
other parts of Georgia, vineyards in Racha are cultivated only on a
small territory. Almost all types of grapes in Racha are of local
origin. The most common are the white and red varieties of grapes.
Alexandreuli and Mujuretuli grape varieties are especially famous. On the background of such heritage my cousin Paata
Pataridze, who brought back the dwelling land of Pataridze family and
I had a great desire to build a vineyard with joint financial,
physical or mental abilities and cultivated Alexandreuli and
Mujuretuli grape varieties. As Paata was growing up in Racha with
grandfather, he carefully taught how to take care of the vineyard and
winery. Hired workers
were performing the works in the vineyard by hand and not by
mechanisms. The vineyard is well maintained (looked after) by bio
preparations. We produce wine from 2015.We’ve made a change and
prepare semi-dry red wine from Alexandreuli and Mujuretuli ,we
believe it’s more interesting in its nature than previously known
semi-sweet red wine, known under the name "Khvanchkhara".
In 2008 we cultivated a vineyard in the village of Abanoeti in
Ambrolauri region, in the micro-zone of Alexandreuli and Mujuretuli
grape varieties. The vineyard is located at 695 meters above the sea
level. On the sunny slope, that is why sugar content is up to 26-28.
This is endemic grape variety, that only grows in several villages of
Racha. Our vineyard covers 1.5 hectares where only 3200 plants are of
Alexandreuli and Mujuretuli grapes.
In 2016 we produced only 350 bottles. We can produce 5000 bottles in
case of full pressing of maximum harvest. We produce wine only from
the grapes obtained from our vineyards, process the work with organic
products. We’ve produced 350 bottles of 2016 Wine. We were not able to
produce it fully, because of the existing cellar equipment, which did
not allow us to do this last year. In 2017 year- 2000 bottles.
The wine is set up (made) from Alexandreuli and Mujuretuli grape
variety, which is given in our own vineyards (we do not buy grapes).
We’ve made 2016 "Pataridze’s Rachuli" in stainless steel thve sense for 10 days, then
move it into the glass bins (demijohns) and without all the yeasts and
additives, the wine has passed through filtration, we’ve poured out in
the bottles and they will be vinified (matured) .Our wine 'Pataridze's
Rachuli' is sold in wine bars in Georgia, including "vino
underground". In USA in "Blue Danube Wine Company. We take part in
festivals and different kinds of wine exhibitions in Georgia.
Cooperation outside of Georgia, establishment and popularization of
wine “Pataride’s Rachuli” in the international market is great
pleasure for us.
