About
Amorotti is an Italian venerable family farm, set amongst the harsh peaks of the Gran Sasso mountains and the placid waves of the Adriatic Sea. The organic farm, whose early origin dates back to 1521, hosts a vast wildlife and forest reserve, where pastures and centuries-old woodland coexist with cultivated land home to vines, olives, cereals, legumes and a wide diversity of further genetic resources all belonging to the agricultural heritage of Abruzzo.
The Amorotti historical cellar is a captivating labyrinth of bricks and stones located underneath the family’s Palazzo in the centre of the late medieval village of Loreto Aprutino. Here the principles of craftsmanship, minimal intervention and tradition inspire the winemaking process and give form to the Amorotti wines along with constant dedication and the firm will of making natural products respectful of the biosphere and of a vine culture transmitted by the ancestors.
A deeply truthful expression of the vines and terroir at their source, the Amorotti wines come to life within a compelling creative environment. Pollinaria, the overarching project comprising the farm, is a research organisation fostering innovative, integrated work in art, agriculture and ecology. Since over a decade, artist residencies take place within the ancient farmhouses immersed in nature, which are also open to travellers practicing ecotourism and oenotourism.
