COMPANY AND TERRITORY When we talk about wine we cannot ignore the territory that originates it: the relationship between soil, environment and vine is in fact of fundamental importance for the production of important wines. The Perego e Perego farm covers an area of about 10.5 hectares, is located in Rovescala, in the area where the borders of Emilia and Lombardy meet, that is, where already at the time of the Greeks and Romans, at the time of Strabone, for example, or of Polibio, or of Cato, there was talk, indeed it was written of the Oltrepo, as of a luxuriant land in which the vine grows spontaneously in its natural habitat. The microclimate of the area in fact, combined with the particular morphological composition of the soil (mainly composed of limestone and clay), ensure that ideal conditions are achieved for the cultivation of the vine. The grape variety normally found in the area is Croatina, from Perego & Perego also in its native varieties Limited pruning, soil management carried out only with the addition of plant nutrients and micro-organisms, designed to maintain the rhizosphere (the root of the plants) intact, cluster thinning and careful manual harvesting contribute, with respect to the organic disciplinary, to the best qualitative yield of the grapes. The company body presents the historic underground cellar dating back to the early 19th century.
