something

Clos Monicord is a family wine estate located on an elevated lime stone plateau on a 70 meter altitude north of Bordeaux. The Bakx family owns the estate since 2000.

Father and daughter work side by side producing various wines and continuously question themselves on how to improve what they’re undertaking. Daughter Audrey is also an artist and designs all the labels and packaging.

At an early stage we realised we must take a small but important step to organic and biodynamic agriculture and production of wine. This path we have been following is slow but shows many benefits. We have noticed the changes in the environment, the fauna, flora, ourselves but most importantly the taste of wine. We understood that the certification became unavoidable. Clos Monicord is fully converted to organic and biodynamic (Demeter).

As a producer and artist, we have always tried to put ourselves in the shoes of the consumer to make wine more accessible. We look forward to communicating about the content (wine) and love to share messages through our packaging and wine label designs. Isn’t wine about sharing?
