Domaine Baptiste Nayrand

Situated between Bibost and Millery, in the western region of Lyon, the Domaine Baptiste Nayrand cultivates 9 hectares of organically certified vines. Creativity and freedom of expression, from the wine right down to the label, are at the heart of the estate’s approach.

Low yields, coupled with a wide variety of grass-covered terroirs, foster a harmonious relationship with the vital forces of Life – a principle deeply rooted in biodynamic practices, which are also implemented on the vines.

The reds undergo whole-cluster vinification without temperature control, allowing for a slow, natural fermentation and infusion that captures the spirit throughout the seasons. This philosophy extends to the white wines with a gentle pressing, without settling, and a tumultuous fermentation, followed by ageing on fine lees.

The estate’s essence lies in allowing the "memory of water" to express itself... We firmly believe that the pleasure of the senses and the drinkability of a wine are at the heart of hedonism, enabling the unfettered expression of Lyon's diverse mosaic of terroirs.
