The Domaine des Brumes is the story of two wine lovers, two “bon vivant”, deeply attached to nature. Partners in the vineyard, Lucile and Dorian are also partner in life. In December 2022 the Domaine des Brumes is established through a set of plots scattered around the winery, putting together 13.30ha of vines, mainly planted with Chenin Blanc and also red varieties (Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon, Grolleau Noir and Gamay) as well as a little bit of Sauvignon Blanc. We are settled in Saint Aubin de Luigné, in the “Anjou noir” region and in the heart of the “Coteaux du Layon” wine region, but we came here to produce mainly dry Chenins. Our motto is simple: Alive. With life in the vines, in the soils, on the grapes, in the berries, there will be even more life, character, singularity in the wine that will come from it. Our vines’ management technique is designed in favor of life around our vines and under our feet. The vineyard is in the organic conversion process since day one and it’s not just about a label but more about convictions and even more, to us it’s a necessity. Throughout the year, we make manual work our first choice and the trips through the vineyard with the tractor are reduced to the essential. Each step is done at the rhythm of each season and according to the specificity of the vintage. The choices that are made all year long in the vineyard enable the arrival of healthy and perfectly ripe grapes. All the work done before is made in order to reduce as much as possible our interventions in the cellar because we believe that it is that way, by being discreet in the cellar, that each wine will fully express where it comes from. Therefore, no additives (except from very tiny amounts of sulphite) are added to our wines and the manipulations are reduced as much as it is possible.
