Guillaume ARMAND

Grower, Maker

something

As a son of winemakers, it was at an early age that my father passed on his passion for the land and wine to me. I have always loved working in the vineyards, enjoying nature and the great outdoors. After studying viticulture and winemaking, I went on to work at various wineries from the Roussillon to Beaujolais, before heading to Australia in 2011. Upon my return, I decided to start my own winery in the region that has seen me grow up.

The opportunity in 2012 to restore 3.5 Ha of vines just outside of Nîmes in Vacquerolles was the push I needed. The conversion into organic farming of the vineyard was immediate.

In 2014, I started to build the second part of the label’s vineyards with vines mainly made of white grape varieties (for a total of 6 Ha of vines), located in Saint-Mamert-du-Gard.

In 2017, my biggest project to date started: building my own wine cellar. The building is an ecofriendly project combining a wooden structure with insulation made of straw bales and rice husks.

In the vineyard, I favor manual work at the right time while respecting nature. I harvest the grapes manually and sorting happens in the vineyard, while slow pressing guarantees a high quality of wine. In the cellar, I work as sustainably as possible, making the best use of gravity and a minimal use of sulphites to protect the wines.
