Philosophy
A natural land, pure grapes, and genuine people
I am the son of a peasant winemaker, a pioneer of organic farming in the Jura region (since 1968). I had the privilege of being raised with strong values, learning to work with respect for all living things. I worked alongside my parents until I was 28 years old.
In 1995, I decided to leave the Jura and, together with my partner, took over vineyards in the Mâconnais and Beaujolais regions, which we farmed for four years, creating the Domaine des Deux Ânes.
Drawn to the Languedoc, we chose in 2000 to cultivate new lands in the Corbières, in Peyriac-de-Mer, keeping the name Domaine des Deux Ânes. We built our winery in the heart of a 22-hectare vineyard, converting it to organic farming from the very beginning, and later to biodynamics in 2010.
In 2017, I took over the vineyards of Château Saint-Auriol in Lagrasse, at the heart of the Corbières appellation. I created Domaine DOM&TERRE with 6.5 hectares, converted to biodynamics since 2011, along with a large winery for vinification.
In 2017 and 2018, an additional 10 hectares of neighboring vineyards were entrusted to me, also organically farmed, consisting of old Carignan and Grenache vines, as well as white varieties such as Viognier and Roussanne.
The Viognier, most of the Roussanne, and 1 hectare of Syrah are planted along the riverbank, on soils of calcareous alluvium and silt.
These vineyards are located at an altitude of 140 meters.
The rest of the property is spread across seven parcels surrounded by Mediterranean scrubland, situated on hillsides between 160 and 300 meters in altitude, with shallow clay-limestone soils and highly variable exposures, predominantly facing west.
- Size of their farm: 10 (ha)
- Size of farm under vine: 10 (ha)
- All grapes are dry-farmed. None of the vineyards are irrigated.
- All grapes are harvested manually.
