In 1984, Korenika & Moškon began to revitalize the wine-growing tradition, which was cut in Slovene Istria by the time of communism. They were one of the first ones to offer in 1990, a bottle of wine with its own Korenika & Moškon brand. Today, we offer 80-90,000 bottles of wine to the market. Ten noble varieties of vine – all vines are about 120,000 – planted on twenty-five hectares. We returned to the traditional low-breeding form with one asparagus, which in Istria was never a secret, since it was and is still present in the older vineyards. The vineyards extend from the sea to the hinterland of Istria, overlooking the sea. The terraces are descending from the highest point of the Istrian hill, about 220 meters above sea level, all the way to the sea of both sides, with a height of just a few meters. Higher lying spots are planted with red, and the lower lying with white grape varieties. Because the positions are open to the south, they are rocked by the warm rays of the sun and the sea of the sea. Vineyards are not fertilized with mineral fertilizers. By reducing the crop on the vine and by working for a uniform, non-awakening growth, the grapes ripen for a long time, thus achieving a stable quality without significant differences between the yields of individual years. In such a way, in some way a rustic approach enriched with the latest findings, we achieve the homogeneity of the produced grapes, which is one of the most important factors for large wines. In the basement, we devote ourselves to wine with love, respect for tradition and a lot of know-how. We follow his needs, emphasize the structure and richness of the wine. We allow the wine to express in the bottle the properties of the earth and the area from which it comes. We would like to offer authentic wine with our own signature.
