Kristinus is located on the southwestern shore of Central Europe’s largest natural lake, Balaton. A unique mission in Central Europe, the wine farm integrating pastures, orchards, agricultural land, forests and animals to the vineyards has become Demeter certified in September 2022. Florian & Làszló are passionate about promoting soil health and biodiversity in their environment. The application of permaculture, ecology-islands, insect hotels and indigenous cover crops all contribute to the harvest of high-quality, healthy grapes. By fermenting a high percentage of their wines on the skin in clay vessels, the grapes’ fruity natural character is delicately exposed. Autochtón varieties - led by Kékfrankos, Furmint and Olaszrizling - are a massive cornerstone of their farming ethos too.
