Manavi Wines - Located in the small village of Manavi in Eastern Georgia, we currently cultivate 6 hectares of vineyards in a “Microzone” renowned for producing the distinctive, fruit-driven, and flavorful Mtsvane grape variety. In addition to Mtsvane, we also grow Rkatsiteli and a small amount of Saperavi. Our grapes are harvested by hand and placed into small boxes to preserve their quality.
Vinification takes place in traditional Georgian clay vessels called “Qvevri,” which are buried underground. These vessels, with capacities ranging from 1 to 2 tons, help maintain a stable temperature, allow the wine to breathe, and naturally purify itself from sediments during fermentation and aging. No yeasts or additives are used in the winemaking process.
Our white grapes are crafted both with and without skin contact, with skin contact lasting up to six months. This method imparts a rich amber color and unique character to our wines. Wines made purely from juice are light, bright, and fruity.
Our wines have a unique taste that stands out even among familiar Georgian wine profiles. So sit back, relax, and enjoy what nature has gifted us. Gaumarjos!
