Grower, Maker

something
All started in 2020 with love. Love for the region, love for the nature, love for each other. Vesselin Doychev and Irina Sofranova matched at once. The idea of both: she, being a wine journalist and lecturer (graduated WSET) for the last 8 years, to choose grapes and styles and he: bringing his family wine growing and making tradition into a different perspective to transfer all into wine. The project focus is producing wine from the Balkans, with no intervention (except love), fermenting / maturing all in Cretan amphoras. Every year the base are Bulgarian indigenous varieties, blended with one or more from neighbouring countries (Greece, Republic of north Macedonia, Romania, Turkey…) • In 2021 the main players were the grapes from organic, old Rkatsiteli vineyard and the inherited local plot of Karlvo Misket. The Balkan player: Assyrtiko • In 2022 the same vineyard of Rkatsiteli in Central Bulgaria became an own vineyard, and will play around with Keratsuda and two Greeks: Assyrtiko and Xinomavro • In 2023 we plan to start with the building of an own environmentally friendly designed nordic style winery, near Plovidv
