Weingut NeueHeimat

Bastian Kaltenböck & Christian Söll

Grower, Maker

something

The story of our winery is the story of a dream come true. Started in 2009 as Goedwinemakers, it is now home to many different personalities. Bastian Kaltenböck, who runs the winery, and cellar master Christian Söll have contributed significantly to the development of the winery since 2015 and have created a place of arrival with their team: This new chapter now bears the name Weingut NeueHeimat.

In the beginning was friendship. The friendship of Ton Goedmakers and Uli Kaltenböck, who met at a hotel bar in Lech am Arlberg in the 1990s and fulfilled their great dream of a joint winery. By free decision and with great passion, they committed themselves to southern Styria, where they started the Goedwinemakers enjoyment project with family and friends. Together we have created a lot and moved a lot. Sometimes we also doubted and cursed. But we have never lost the will and the joy of what we do here: making good wine. In order to succeed, we have to do more than just preserve. We question things, change and develop further. That is our demand - on the craft as well as on ourselves. And that is why Bastian Kaltenböck and Christian Söll have been continuing to write their own history since 2015.

Today we are farming 11 hectares of vineyards, certified organic since 2020. Since 2023 we are working biodynamic and went in Demeter conversion in 2024. We love our herd of 10 sheep.

Detailed info about philosophy of farming and winemaking you can find here.
